3 Years LL.B Programme
The duration of the course leading to the Bachelor Degree in Law (LL.B) shall be 3 years spread over 6 Semesters. Each academic year comprises of two semesters and each semester shall be for 18 weeks.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:
- Any candidate who is a graduate or post graduate of any recognized university or possessing such academic qualifications which are considered to be equivalent to graduate or post graduate degree of the recognized University / by the Bar council of India shall be eligible for admission.
- A candidate who fulfills the above qualification should have scored at least 45% for Gen/OBC & 40 % in case of SC/ ST in aggregate of the qualifying examination. The percentage of the marks is to be calculated on the basis of the marks obtained in all the three years of the degree courses / Master Degree whichever is advantageous to the students.
Medium of Instruction
The medium of Instruction shall be English. However, the students shall have the option to answer the question paper in the examination either in English or in Kannada.
Attendance
No student shall be permitted to appear for the end-of-Semester examination in a given course unless he/she has, to the satisfaction of the course teacher, fulfilled the course requirements and has put in not less than 75% attendance in the course concerned.
Promotion against Lateral Entry and Exit
There shall be no lateral entry on the plea of graduation in any subject or exit by way of awarding a degree splitting the integrated double degree course, at any intermediary stage of integrated double degree course
Promotion
No student shall be promoted to the next year of the course unless he/she has passes a minimum of two subjects in each semester.
- Students are required to successfully complete the entire course within ten years from the date of admission to the course(B.A. LL.B., 5 Year Course), within six years from the date of admission to the course (B.3 Year Course).
Award of Degree
A Student shall be eligible for the award of the B.A. LL.B/ LL.B Degree after he/she has successfully completed all the prescribed courses in all the Semesters and provided his or her character and conduct are found to be satisfactory during the course.
